so its the month of august
which for the past few years has meant the month of exam results, such a stressful time of worrying, especially this year seeing as its such a pivotal moment in life, deciding how the next few years will be, but august means summer too, and summer means smiles and these are a few things that have made me smile for the month of august.
moleskine notebooks
i finally bought a new moleskine and i really like it, i have this weird thing where when i buy new notebooks i don't like to write in them in case i spoil it, but haven't had that with this one, it's lovely, been making collages and getting creative.

slow club
their album 'yeah so' has been the soundtrack to my summer, i love their music so much, its so mellow and lyrics so beautiful
♪ because we are far apart, and my lonely heart finds it hard to get through the night,
you pulled me out of the dark and now its light ♪

summer booklist
before the summer wrote a mega list of books to read and buy, bought a few so far and finished quite a few classics, attempted to read some but they weren't really for me, and read some others that have become instant favourites. at the moment reading 'the bell jar' by sylvia plath, finally purchased it and i really do love it, the language, how descriptive it is, the emotions, everything its amazing

alphonse mucha
discovered his artwork awhile ago, and i think its beautiful, i have a small piece on my wall
but want to purchase some more

the fact that it is summer
summer meaning green grass, incredibly blue skies, beauty and the vivid colour of eyes
the warm glow of summer evenings, drinking honey tea sitting on
cushions on the floor
overlooking a setting sun
coffee shops and conversation, laughter and glances.
midnight phonecalls, sleepless nights, sleeping
as the birds sing outside
reading novels with endless pages on train journeys
the warmth of the sun on shoulders
summer playlist on repeat, ice-cubes circling a glass of water
sitting cross-legged in bookshops reading a few chapters and
quoting extracts
walking down never ending
melting gray pavements
during rush hour
